12 Pictures for 2011

I thought it would be fun to post a picture from each month of the past year. Looking back helps me to remember...and makes me realize I don't take near enough pictures of the kids!!

January - This is how we started the year...with a great, big, red dumpster in the yard! For 3 days, we threw away everything we could. That dumpster was full!!
February - Poor Jonah! This is the most severe reaction he's ever had to food. This was after putting a piece of steak in his mouth...not swallowed or even chewed, just in his mouth!!
March/April- We took Lindsey to New York for her birthday. While we were there we decided to go to a Yankee's game. There was thunder, lightning, rain and hail! Such crazy weather!! We also decided to take a tour of the Steinway factory so Lindsey could see how pianos were made. Very informative and she really appreciated it :-)

May - Ethan finished the year strong after really struggling at the beginning of the year. With lots of help from all his teachers and tutors, Ethan ended up on the Honor Roll, got a Mathmatics Award, Chinese Award, Art Award and scored a 4 on his EOG's (which wwe NEVER thought possible given his frustration and problems in Math.) Altogether, I think he got 7 awards...he was tired of going up to get them!!
June - Jonah broke the growth plate in his wrist on the 6th day of our week long vacation at the beach.
July - Gray and I always go back to The Carolina Inn for our anniversary
August/September - The kids start school...Lindsey starts High School and sprains her knee on the first day of gym! Definitely a sign of what was to come!!

October - Ethan at Halloween. Not sure what he was supposed to be, but he let us put the "pretend blood" on his hands...that's a really big deal for a kid with sensory issues!
November, Thanksgiving Day - A rare moment of affection
December - Can't complain when you're in Florida for the weekend...especially when it's warm in Florida and cold at home!

So, that's it...lots of good times, some not so good times...but we try to make the best of it and enjoy being together as a family. Time to get serious about documenting things for kids, though. For someone who loves scrapbooking, I have not done a very good job making one for each child. So far, I have 1 scrapbook of Ethan's first year...that's it! One of these days, I'll get caught up. Maybe..just maybe, 2012 will be the year I finally get it done!!

you are talking too much

  1. Wow! Kids with food allergies and sensory issues? We definitely have something in common.

  2. Penelope, some days I feel like allergies, asthma, sensory issues, Asperger's, ADHD...all of those "diagnoses" are the boss in our lives! So no, you are definitely not alone!!
